Dr. Vibhu S. Sharma is a Senior Principal (Senior Manager) at Accenture Labs India.
Vibhu has led research in different areas of software engineering, with over 17 years of experience in industrial and academic research. His work so far has spanned several research areas in the software engineering umbrella including Software metrics & Process insights, NLP, Cloud computing, and Agile process governance. He recently led research in novel applications of Immersive (Mixed/Augmented-Reality based) approaches for Software Engineering and Analytics. Now, he is investigating various aspects of Sustainability in the context of Software Engineering and leads Green Software Engineering R&D at Accenture Labs.
Prior to joining Accenture, he completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engg., from the Indian Institute of Technology (I.I.T.) Kanpur in the area of software architecture-based performance and reliability analysis using Markov chains and queueing networks. During his doctoral program, he visited Duke University as a research associate, and also worked as an intern at IBM India Research Lab on performance benchmarking of the IBM BlueGene/L supercomputer.
He has published 45+ peer-reviewed papers in key international journals (like the ACM Transactions on Software Engineering and Methodology) and conferences (like the ACM/IEEE International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE), IEEE/ACM International Conference on Automated Software Engineering (ASE)) and has 42 granted Patents to his credit. He has been invited to serve in the program committee and review boards of several conferences and journals including the IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering and the ACM/IEEE International Conference on Software Engineering .
